⭐️You can have the girls choose a goal or project they want to complete in the coming month and tell them the rock can go on their pillows as a reminder every night or morning.⭐️
The reminders don’t have to go on a bed or pillow, of course. Each girl can decide what works best for her. My daughter used to keep her rock on our kitchen table in plain sight as a constant reminder of what she was working on. I didn’t mind it being there, since it was reminding her of awesome goals. It works!
These goal rocks are so fast and easy–not to mention inexpensive! Directions below…
Young Women Reminder Rocks
Instructions:
- Choose rocks with a flat surface if possible. Of course, you need to make sure they are large enough for the personal progress value names (or other words you’ve chosen) to fit on the rock with the size of permanent marker you are using.
- Clean rocks with soap and water then allow to dry for 1-2 hours.
- Let the young women choose their Sharpie colors and pen size (or paint colors and brushes), then have at it.
So easy, right? That’s it, and they have quick reminders that they love because they made their own goals and they made their own reminder!
**If by chance these rocks will be displayed outdoors once the girls take them home, you may want to spray them with a light coat of varnish or paint with Modge Podge. Otherwise, even the permanent ink may fade or disappear. If you are spraying with varnish, keep the spray can 12″ away and do a few light coats rather than one heavy coat. Even permanent marker can bleed. I’ve seen it!
**Another tip on rock selection: I know this may go without saying, but make sure the rocks you choose are large enough to not be a choking hazard and small enough to not be a throwing hazard! 🙂 You never know what little sibling or visitor will wander into a girl’s room and get creative with the rock!
